Plant visit of Minister Mona Neubaur on 19 January 2024

The transition of Bochumer Eisenhütte – from traditional mining and tunnel construction to a company with special solutions for complex steel structures – has attracted keen interest of our State Minister Mona Neubaur. As Minister for Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and Deputy Prime Minister, she naturally has a particular interest in supporting medium-sized companies.

Mrs. Neubaur took particular interest in our solar carport solutions and the new photovoltaic roofing constructions developed by our sister company ROOF+ GmbH to generate renewable energy.
Mrs. Neubaur had already visited the start-up company last year at the NRW pavilion at the trade fair E-World Energy & Water in Essen. During a guided tour of our Bochum plant, we were able to show Mrs. Neubaur the complete steel construction for ROOF+ GmbH in addition to the production of our support arches and profiles for mining and tunnel construction (s. news article here).

We are very pleased with Minister Mrs. Neubaur’s commitment to promote Germany as a manufacturing location and to encourage the preservation of jobs in NRW as a business location.
